Welcome Brianna!!!

Trent's sister, Brianna, came back with us from WV to live with us for awhile. We're so excited she's here! She already had an interview for a job today at a local rec center.

A Whirlwind of Family

Here are a few pictures from our trip to Ohio and West Virginia this past weekend. Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures with our parents or with Trent's siblings (we were able to visit with all four of them & their kids briefly). We even got pictures taken of all 6 of Trent's parents grandkids (Hudson is only the 2nd youngest!). We also went to a beautiful wedding, but unfortunately I didn't take any pictures there either. We had a great time! Congrats Andrew & Laura!

Visiting with Erin

Last night we enjoyed catching up with my friend Erin who I went to Vanderbilt with. She is from St. Louis & lived here the first 3 years we were here, but then moved to CA. She is in visiting family this week and we were able to spend some time together. It was fun to catch up.

A Relaxing Sunday

Sunday morning Trent was playing the guitar and I put Hudson on the floor a few feet away from him. He immediately crawled over to Trent, propped himself up on his leg and listened in awe and wonder for awhile as Trent played and sang. They didn't know I was filming.

I just love hanging out with this little guy

Starting to Crawl

Here's a peek at Hudson's first attempts at crawling last weekend. It's more of an "army crawl", but we did see him up on all fours once. He can consistently make it to the other side of a room to get to his toys now. We're really having fun with him as he interacts more and more with us and his toys.

Free Flu Shots

For those living in St. Louis, Barnes-Jewish Hospital is offering free flu shots this week (& a few other times) for people ages 6mo & older. For more information, visit their website.

I Love to Read!

We're actually missing how he would sit still in our laps & let us read to him. Now, he pretty much wants to chew on the pages and hold the book himself. It is fun to watch him explore more and more with his books and toy when he plays on the floor with them.

Happy Six Months Hudson!!!

Some stats from Hudson's 6mo check-up:

weight 16lbs 3.5oz 30th %
length 25 5/8" 25th %
head circum 16 5/8" 15th %

The doctor said everything looked healthy! Hudson got his first tooth. It's on the bottom and will probably have another one next to it before too long. He's been extra fussy in the last few days, but I'm not sure if it's from the tooth, the cold he seems to have, his immunizations or lack of sleep.

Since Mom & Dad always take me running, I decided I should start wearing warm-up suits

I decided to try my hand at homemade babyfood...this is carrots in an ice cube tray. I can freeze them in his size portions and simply pop one carrot cube out when he's ready to eat. Much easier than I expected

The privelages of being 6mo old...Hudson gets to sit in his high chair

He's not quite sure what he thought of his first vegetable

About sleeping.... things were going much better because Trent and I moved out of the bedroom and started sleeping in the guest room downstairs. On Monday night, we had a "residents meeting" for our complex and were told that it's illegal to sleep in your basement because of fire safety. So, the last two nights we started sleeping in our bedroom with Hudson again and none of us have gotten good sleep. We have 8 more months here and need a solution to our sleep problems. We thought about moving Hudson out to the living room when we go to sleep, but Trent gets up early and has to make noise in the living room (making coffee, leaving to go running...). A neighbor suggested that we sleep in the living room and leave Hudson in our room. We don't have a pullout couch, but we do have a futon in the basement. Maybe we should switch that with one of our couches in the living room and sleep on the futon in the living room. We'll see....
