A Dating Relationship

We are currently in the beginning stages of a one-sided relationship. We are getting to know Dallas. We are getting information about Dallas, exploring, asking questions, finding out what Dallas has to offer and then trying to process it all. This is a fun stage for us. We love the adventure in discovering the unknown (to us).

Overall, we are doing well. We have been enjoying time spent with one of the other interns, Jeremy and are even going to his house this afternoon to cool off in the pool. I also made a new friend this week...her name's Emily and she & her husband have one son, Hudson! Their Hudson is 4mo younger than our Hudson. The 2 little guys look pretty similar with their fair skin and blond hair. I'm looking forward to getting to know them better.

We have so many stories already, but that has to be all for now. We don't have internet at our house, so any internet time must be used wisely.

Dallas!

We are moved in to our new house in Dallas! Well, moved in in the sense that all our earthly possessions are inside our house somewhere. :)

Here are some stats for our first 48 hours:

107....the temperature as we arrived
1.....the number of lemon-sized cockroaches we've seen inside our house (I'm really hoping this number does not increase!)
7.....the number of phone calls it has taken to get our electric turned on
30....the number of minutes I could jog outside at 9pm

We're enjoying the location of our house. It is only 0.5mi to the church and within walking distance to many cafes, but it feels very quaint with sidewalks everywhere. It'll be great for strolls when the weather is a little less harsh.

Also, here's a link to my Dad and I getting 2nd place in a "Father-Daughter" lookalike contest for Father's Day in my hometown newspaper. There were 44 entries.

A Few Pictures

Here's an assortment of pictures from our time post-St. Louis and pre-Dallas. We're visiting with both our families this weekend and then leaving WV Sunday to start our 3 day journey of traveling to Dallas.

We Have a Beach Baby!

We have done so many awesome things since my last post and have some fun pictures to document it, but now I don't have the cord to get the pictures from my camera to the computer. So, again here's an update minus any pics.

We're at the beach right now with Trent's family. We're in Long Beach, NC and it is beautiful. The weather has been great, the water is a perfect temperature and hanging out with Trent's family is always fun. Hudson absolutely loves the beach! He is definitely in his element here, which is super fun to watch. He loves playing in the sand and playing in the water.

Over the weekend, we spent some gorgeous days with Trent's parents in WV. We went fishing down a breathtaking river that winded through the mountains. Trent caught a 15" rainbow trout. We also played lots of MarioKart on Wii and 2 on 2 volleyball.

Missy, thanks for the comment from the last post. It still hasn't sunk in that we're not coming back to Gulf Drive after our month long vacation. Hope all you Gulf Drivers are enjoying some fun summer times. We miss you!

Also, a shout out to Beth and Zane...congrats on the birth of Miranda Joy!! We are super excited for y'all!!!

Doing Well

Hello from beautiful West Virginia! We are doing well and have lots of pictures and updates from the last couple weeks, but unfortunately my computer (with all the pictures on it) is out of commission. I can't get it fixed until we get to Dallas. That's right, we're moving to Dallas, Texas!

Trent got a one year internship at Park Cities Presbyterian Church . The internship starts July 1st and we're heading down to Dallas around June 20th. We're super excited about our new adventure, even if it is going to be 100+ degrees for the first couple months. So far, we know 3 people in Texas and they're all in Houston (3 hours away). We're looking forward to spending some time with them and meeting new friends.

What have we been doing since graduation and moving from Saint Louis? Good question. We've had a few days of whirlwind activity and a few days of relaxing around my Dad and Stepmom's house. The whirlwind- we've been to my cousin's wedding, Trent's family reunion, 2 high school graduations (we each had a sister graduating), Trent's mom's 50th birthday party, taken pictures for my sister's prom, visited all our grandparents and caught up with some WV friends. That's the whirlwind part. The relaxing part is we're each reading fun novels, sitting on my parent's deck while Hudson naps, hiking, watching episodes of Lost and I think we're going to put the jet ski in the lake today (my parent's house in on a lake).
