Hudson & Anna Kate have started getting into pets. First we had a beetle, but he didn't make it very long. This week, they caught a baby lizard and named him Baby Jack.
They both enjoyed watching him, finding leaves and rocks to put in his bucket, but Hudson loved him. We let Baby Jack go before bedtime so he could go with his mom and dad.
Hudson watched him go and broke into tears when he couldn't see him anymore, the really sad, heartbroken tears. It took lots of consoling, talking about how this was better for Baby Jack to be in the environment he normally lives in, and learning about lizards before Hudson felt a little better.
He has such a sensitive, tender heart sometimes. He's asking for a dog, but we don't think he could handle it if something ever happened to the dog. And we are not considering getting a dog now.
