Safety First
While we were in Florida, a mom from the church we were interviewing at dropped off some toys for Hudson to play with during our time there (so thoughtful!!). Included in the toys was a tool set, complete with safety goggles. One night Hudson loved wearing the goggles.
On a separate note, shortly before our trip, Hudson was sitting on his little bicycle in our house when he fell off and bumped his head. He immediately got a big goose egg on his forehead. Trent was quite worried and took a picture to send to my sister who's a doctor to see what we should do. I, on the other hand, was totally calm, cool & collected saying "oh, these things happen to little boys" as the knot on his forehead continued to grow (the picture was really seconds after the fall and doesn't show how big it got). It's interesting the things that worry us.

We talked to my stepmom (who's an OR nurse) and sister who just told us to watch for signs of a concussion. Hudson was fine. My sister did say she'd get him a helmet for his birthday next month. :)

San Antonio
On Tuesday afternoon we hopped in the car and headed south to San Antonio. One of Trent's best friends, Kenton, called to say he was in San Antonio on business until Wednesday. We've been wanting to visit there & always enjoy seeing Kenton. It just so happened our schedules were free enough for us to take Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday off. It was a great quick last minute trip.

A great bonus on the trip was that we drove through Waco, Texas, which is home to Baylor University. One of my Vandy friends, Ashley, is finishing her MBA at Baylor (which had a beautiful campus) and we were able to stop and visit with her for a bit. It was so fun to catch up, but unfortunately I got no pictures.

San Antonio's famous riverwalk...this picture does it no justice. It was miles of gorgeous paths along the waterway.

My Big Helper
Hudson loves to help me in the kitchen. We have a step ladder that we often pull out so he can watch what's going on on top of the counter. Sometimes we take our meal preparations to the kitchen table for him to get an even better view and to be able to help. This is from last weekend.
