Collier County Museum's Old Florida Festival

Recently, my friend Kristin & I took the kids to Collier County Museum's Old Florida Festival. We seemed to have only gotten pictures of Hudson. He did probably enjoy it the most.
During WWII, the current Naples airport was a training facility for members of the armed forces before being deployed overseas. Hudson LOVED learning all about the different guns & tanks.
Hudson held a ball python from the section with pirates. It was interesting learning about the pirate activity in this area. Anna Kate liked looking at the snake, but did not want to touch it. She loves catching all insects, grubs, etc. I think she was more hesitant because of the person dressed up as a pirate who was holding the snake.
Hudson is pressing cane here. In the 1800s, many people settled in SW FL to become cane farmers and would press the cane like this to make cane syrup, cane molasses (which the kids got to try) and other items.
I hope we remember to go to this not very advertised festival next year.
