Many Memorable Moments

The last few days have been full of many big events in our lives! I feel like there's so much that's been happening that I can't even write about it. Here's a little list with more details to come soon (at least that's the plan!):

-Hudson took his first steps
-Hudson was baptized today
-We both graduated with our masters degrees
-We became members of the PCA today (the denomination we are starting to work in)
-Trent was officially offered and accepted a job in Dallas, TX
-I quit my job at Bank of America
-Hudson had his first haircut
-We've started packing our house

Hudson feeding a camel at Grant's Farm with Nana

At first he loved it, then he got a little scared when the camel took both their hands in his/her mouth!

getting his first haircut

reading a book with Mamaw during Graduation (can you tell how tired he was...he didn't nap that day and was up until after 10pm without any meltdown...amazing!)

he also learned to drink from a straw for the first time....he's sharing a fruit smoothie with Daddy

There are many more pictures and lots of stories to go with our whirlwind lives right now. I hope to share more with you soon!

Baccalaureate Service

Wow! We just got home from a beautiful baccalaureate service at Covenant. It was held in our school's chapel with lots of singing, prayer, senior testimonies, scripture reading and preaching from our school's president. It really ministered to our souls. The graduates had a processional and therefore assigned seating up front. Trent and I were across the podium from one another. Every time I looked up, his was the face I saw. It was just lovely to see my husband as we reflected on all God has done for us during our time here and see his eyes light up as we were singing praises to our God. We are so thankful that we've been able to attend Covenant Seminary these last four years!

We have so much going on this week. I look forward to writing about it sometime soon as I think it will help me process all the amazing things God is doing in our lives. Trent went to go pick his mom up from the airport and they should be back soon, so I just wanted to post a quick update while I had a free moment. Our graduation is tomorrow night and I pray it is even remotely like our service this evening.

Dog, Tree, Amen

What do these 3 words have in common you might ask? They are Hudson's first words!! A dog was barking outside our house during dinner a couple nights ago and Hudson kept pointing and saying "dog" over and over. We tried to get it on video, but once he saw the camera his lips were sealed. Then later when we were praying with him before bed, he said "amen" after us. We were shocked, so we kept repeating it and he kept repeating it after us. We all thought it was super fun. He's also said "green" as well now.

A Brush With Greatness

The title is just one of many comments Trent made when he got home last night, after going to our school to hear a series of lectures by Chris Wright . Chris Wright has written 3 of Trent's favorite books right now, The Mission of God, Old Testament Ethics for the People of God, and Knowing Jesus Through the Old Testament . [An interesting side note is that the other 2 books in Trent's top 5 list are also by someone with the last name Wright, Simply Christian and Surprised by Hope (NT Wright).] Anyways, Trent was on cloud nine when he got home and I really thought he might take his signed book to bed in the way that a child doesn't want to leave a new toy or prized possession. He talked non-stop for quite awhile when he got home. I wish I could remember all of Trent's comments about the evening, but here are a few:

"After if was over, I just wanted to gather with people and sing praises."

"Every word he said was like savoring a bite of a really good NY Strip."

"That just kicked the crap out of any concert I've ever been to."

"I guess I should let you in on the plan....I intend to buy every one of his books." (I did not get a reply in here :))

"Just so you know, if I want to become Anglican down the road, it's not coming out of left field." (Dr. Wright is Anglican)
